Today, a miracle has occurred.
This is the first draft Ash has sent me in our eight months of working together where she only forgot a comma once. It’s an act of God, since there were drafts where instead of writing my usual “comma” note, I would instead write this such as (comma… IT’S SO BAD TODAY ASH. WHERE ARE YOU’RE COMMAS, DAMNIT?!), or (COMMA *ANGRY FACE*), or (COMMA ASH I WILL BE THINKING OF A PUNISHMENT FOR YOU), or even (COMMA ASH FUCK), or my personal favourite, (comma if I’m writing this instead of reading on to a possible kiss I’m going to fucking beat your ass I swear to Chuck Ash).
So I’ve made her this certificate in honour of her great grammatical achievement.
Ash, here is a certificate, and twelve hours of applause.
But more seriously, I’ve spent the past eight months editing Ash’s fic, and I’ve had the pleasure of watching her grow as a writer and artist. These commas may seem insignificant, but they aren’t just commas, but evidence of Ashton perfecting her craft.
This is the second to last chapter, and soon this will be over. It’s been a privilege to be her beta, and an honour to have become her friend. To the readers: I hope you’ve enjoyed this fic at least a fraction as much as I have,
and help me gently encourage Ash to write another fic at her earliest convenience.
Congrats Ash, I love you lot’s.
(Also, spoiler alert, Dean sings this song in a falsetto for 80% of this chapter.)
